Pilotwings Resort for the 3DS

Pilotwings Resort is pretty much a game where you get to fly a plane, hang glider or a jet pack. is a flight simulation video game for the Nintendo 3DS handheld game console, developed by Monster Games and published by Nintendo. It is a sequel to the 1990 Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) game Pilotwings and the 1996 Nintendo 64 game Pilotwings 64.

Gameplay
When you start off you have to select a Mii then sign your name. Afterwards you also get to go on a trial run to get used to the controls. Now keep in mind that its the same as it was on the regular DS or the DSi that the action is on the top screen and any instructions are on the bottom screen.

After the trial mode you can choose from:
-Mission flight: complete various challenging missions to earn the highest performance star.
-Free flight mode: Practice mode for the missions.
-Options: Music, effects, and settings (flight controls, rocket belt auto camera and the in game map).
-Member card: Has your Mii and signature on it.
-Dioramas: See these once you unlock them.

Now the missions include:
-Training
-Bronze level
-Silver level
-Gold level
-Platinum level
-Diamond level

Your main goal is to basically get as many stars as possible to unlock the next level of gameplay.

Graphics
For a DS game its impressive to see in 3D. Although the 3DS system upgrades the graphics from the original Pilotwings but it really looks like you are playing the Wii here. Be warned though that not everyone is comfortable playing a 3D game for anymore than 20 minutes or so but it also depends on your tolerance.

Conclusion
This game is very impressive. Not only is the system itself impressive but this game is such a step up from the original its really cool. Pilotwings was apparently first developed for the Super Nintendo and then made its way to the Nintendo 64. Each time they upgraded the graphics and added things. It's a good solid flight simulator so enjoy.
